Project Summary:

Created a CAD replication of a pair of Sony Headphones, through NURBS-based modelling, Assemblies, and PBR materials rendering in the SolidWorks software. Real world data was obtained through the reverse engineering process; with the analysis of mechanics (joint constraints, tolerances), and the documentation of the disassembly process (labelling of parts, tracking part relationships), used for accurate mating of components during the digital assembly process; a vernier caliper and ruler used to obtain real world measurements for accurate CAD modelling of parts; and the analysis of part materials appearances, (macroscopic and microscopic texture, colour), for realistic rendering within SolidWorks “Visualize” add-on. This project was an engineering assignment for the university subject "Graphics 2" at WSU.
